A simple test is to stick a finger in to the translucent melted wax, if it feels very-warm-to hot it and takes about five seconds before turning opaque, its about right. If the opaqueness sets in before 5 seconds, its a little too cool. Too hot — you’ll feel it, and this can cause cracking problems. Another problem might be cooling the candles too quickly., i.e, too cool an environment. Try placing the poured candles on top of the fridge where it is a bit warmer so they will harden a little more slowly.
