You can try wickless candles. The wax bars are only five dollars a piece and last as long if not longer than most of the expensive name brand candles. You will need to purchase a warmer to start out, but you can use it over and over again, and it also doubles as a nightlight. In the long run you will save money and there is not the risk associated with flame candles. If you’d like more info then send me an email and I can help you!

Cheap candles may smell nice in the box, but when you start burning them there is almost no scent. That is why there are cheap, very little fragrance oil. Your best bet is to check out TJ MAX, Marshalls, stores like that, for discounted good brands. Usually the only thing wrong with them is the box.

What do you consider cheap? A local business makes Soy scented candles that smell great.
